After decades of using all toothbrush types and brands imaginable: soft, medium, firm, badger hair, boars hair, natural bamboo, etc., I recently discovered these "extra soft" toothbrushes with 10,000 micro-bristles per compact head.
The best price I've found is six (6) that sell for a great low price. These are available on Amazon.com with all six (6) brushes costing only $7.40 and free shipping with Prime membership. Without Prime, likely $3.00 shipping.
The bristles don't bend and flare like all other brushes I've experienced.
The "extra fine" bristles clean in places / crevices of the mouth that standard / regular / large bristles cannot clean because they individual bristles are too wide.
This is cleaning at a micro-level: Very thorough indeed
These toothbrushes are so comfortable, you'll think you're brushing your teeth and gums with melted butter.
And, NO, I do not sell these, own stock n Amazon.com or the manufacturer of these toothbrushes, NOR do I receive any financial or other type of reward / compensation for recommending these. I simply love the feel of them and knowing how finely they clean into pores, cracks and crevices of the teeth, gums and other oral tissues.
I feel strongly that you'll love them as well.
Many decades ago when I lived in Las Vegas, Nevada, a local television personality once mentioned that he applied skin lotion to his elbows and knees everyday and, at age 70, he still had soft and clear looking skin on his elbows and knees.
He showed the camera, and to this day, I always remembered Gus Giuffre... also I've always practiced that application with the healthiest creams I could find.
Over the years most lotions and creams ingredient list began to look like laboratory chemical order forms. Then I discovered both raw organic unfiltered coconut oil and African Shea Butter.
I stayed with the Shea butter for elbows and knees since coconut oil was too oily and led to stains on my long sleeve shirts and pants.
Shea butter is 100x thicker in consistency and thus stays applied longer.
Organic and unrefined Shea butter is widely available online at roughly $10-$15 per POUND, which will last a very long time.
No laboratory order form list of ingredients, just pure African Shea Butter in either white or yellow.
My elbows and knees have NEVER had a rash or scaly skin. They look like a newborn baby's pure skin.
Around the world, one leading cause of death in 3rd world countries is "Lack of Proper Hygiene" due to lack of fresh running water, or any water at all.
Aside from a daily shower, proper internal hygiene and external hygiene is highly recommended for a healthier life.
When I trim my fingernails, I use a 10x power LED lighted magnifier headset (glasses) and with these I can see the details of my "nailbeds and cuticles" thus enabling me to see and assess my nail health but also give myself a perfect nail trimming.
I've seen the difference in nailbed cleanliness before and after using these soft bristled nail brushes.
There are so many things we handle on a daily basis, from gardening, cell phones, gas pump handles, raw animal foods prior to cooking, and these germs get into the nailbeds and around cuticle skin.
These brushes, when used with soap and water while "mildly" scrubbing the finger tips will lead to healthier nails and potentially keep from spreading germs to your face or other skin areas of your body.
You certainly want clean fingers when rubbing your eyes or touching your ears, or anywhere else on your body.
YES they are available on Amazon.com for $7.00 for "2" brushes.
In both human life and the wild animal kingdom, a living being can die from poor oral hygiene or infected teeth, gums or mouth/oral tissues.
Not only is the hostile bacteria in the mouth dangerous to health, it can also cause painful ailments that disallow humans and/or animals to be able to eat properly or any food at all, leading to death by malnutrition... starvation.
On the lightly side, our tongues are generally pink by nature. When we see white on our tongue or another person's tongue, this is generally excessive build-up of bacteria, which can be a major contributor to bad breath.
I've always brushed my tongue with my toothbrush, as the last process of my 3x daily oral hygiene routine. HOWEVER, someone special in my life 20 years ago introduced me to a tongue scraper when I saw her using one during her daily routine.
Once I witnessed her before and after results, I promptly purchased a stainless steel tongue scraper for each bathroom and one for my vehicle... yes... on the road cleaning while away from home.
Needless to say, I purchased the pair of scrapers as seen in the image above, today, right before I typed this valuable information for you. These tongue scrapers as shown in the photograph above, have plastic handles, which at first felt odd, since I was conditioned to using my other stainless steel scrapers for years and years with just the thin stainless handle. Now I'm finally feeling comfortable with the bulkier plastic handle,
Either way, tongue scraping is CRITICAL towards oral health, overall health... and fresh breath.
Again, the tongue scrapers are available on Amazon.com - $7.99 plus free shipping with my Prime membership. You can find them elsewhere on eBay and other websites, but most importantly... is to posses one and use it daily.
Their use will change your life for the better... you'll see instant results in a fresh feeling and fresh tasting mouth.
Even before my military service, I was always prepared for the unknown that lies ahead. Perhaps it is a built-in trait inherited or learned from my Purple Heart Decorated U.S. Marine father, who was always prepared.
On average, a human can live 3 weeks without food, while only 3 days without water.
Before the Covid-19 worldwide pandemic, where toilet paper became non-existent in any store, I already had a 3-year supply of soft/thick Cottonelle brand paper... same with tissue paper.
And Lysol wet wipes in the large container tubes... about 3-4 years supply, which I had before they disappeared off shelves during the Covid-19 pandemic.
As for food: for me I have 5+ years of non-perishable Vegan foods in vacuum sealed bags where I tossed-in oxygen-absorbing pouches to double the life of the sealed foods. I went a step further and placed the many pouches in food-grade white plastic buckets with sealed lids/tops, and used a wide Sharpie permanent black marker to boldly and neatly write what the contents are.
YES, it was expensive and time consuming, but should a natural or manmade disaster strike, my German Shepherd Dog, Marine, and I will be fine, since I prepared many buckets full of hundreds of cans of white albacore tuna in water, sardines in water, white chicken breasts in water, and buckets of freeze-dried fruits and vegetables with a backpack-sized SOLAR water heater to cook oats, heat our water, and a $100 portable water filter where I can walk to the Truckee River by Lake Tahoe, and extract the year-round water from there.
Additionally, I found the Ecolab solar generator with folding solar panels are the best on the market for operating my garage floor freezers for Marine's wild game meat and frozen organic veggies... as well as my LED lights and DeWalt batteries, cordless chainsaw for wood and fireplace for heat, and cordless fans to stay cooler in summer.
Wouldn't you pay as much as you have in savings for food or water or some type of light at night or comfort, should none of that become available in a disaster?
In this photograph I am "56" years old, while now at age "65" I still have 95% of the same hairline and hair / hair follicle / hair roots on my head... however, my hair is now 75% gray. Same hair you see above, but now "grayish."
I refuse to color / dye it because the extensive chemicals in hair coloring / dye and, I firmly believe that such dyes (except maybe Henna hair color products) will not only stain your hand-skin and your head-skin / scalp, but those same chemicals get absorbed into the millions of blood vessels on the human head / scalp.
A head injury shows immense blood loss / flow, which leads me to believe that the same is true that the hair coloring / dye gets picked up in the mass of blood vessels that abound in / on a person's scalp, which also keeps the health of hair, hair follicles and, once hair follicles are damaged by the chemicals of typical hair coloring / dyes, the follicles may no longer be able to support the hair and/or hair root, itself and thus leading to hair loss.
ADDITIONALLY, I use a PINBRUSH to gently massage my scalp two (2) times daily. I feel that brushing my hair / scalp (not to brisk or harshly) I'm massaging the hair follicles and blood vessels that supply nutrients to the hair follicles themselves, and allows me to keep my full head of hair at age 65, verses the seniors in my retirement community, who, none of them have as as much hair as I do today.
FINALLLY, for many years, I have filled the ceramic shampoo dispenser in my shower, with "7th Generation", pure / clean zero fragrance or color, DISH SOAP. Yes, I use this particular clean/pure dish soap since it is shown to clean olive and coconut oil from my dishes, it should clean body oils from hair and scalp. NEVER have I had dandruff or hair / scalp problems... never.
Not only does this cost less and have 10x LESS chemicals than commercially sold shampoo, I feel it cleans my scalp better and thus allows air flow for my hair follicles and a healthier cleaner scalp with almost no chemicals.
I chose Britta brand sport water bottles years ago because they were the biggest and best known at the time and, they use BPA-free plastic, and they incorporate small filters which can be changed each 100+ 20 oz fill-ups, at the cost of roughly $5 per filter and, they're so easy to access for replacement.
I have a huge stockpile of filters.
Think of the money you'll save in NOT purchasing bottled water and all the trillions of plastic bottles that end up in rivers, streams, the oceans and landfills for the next 500 years before they decompose.
I keep four (4) of the blue bottles, as seen above, in my vehicle... two for me, and two for K9 Marine, my German Shepherd Dog, son.
In total I have twenty-two (22) around my home and vehicle: home office desk, next to couch, next to bed, in garage workshop and a few in the refrigerator.
These are roughly $20 each, but worth it in the long time investment.
A human can live for 3 weeks without food, but only 3 days without water.
Also, having clean water handy / nearby, aids in you drinking more water, which is wonderful for improved oral cleanliness, hydration, and bodily tissue cleansing.
It's so amazing how just a small amount of exercise each day or every other day, can make such a difference in the average person's health and physique.
When I went to the gym 5-6 times per week, for 40 years, I never burdened my mind with a specific routine. I figure just being there, listening to classic rock in my earbuds, having fun, seeing people (I've always worked from home in my businesses) and doing an overall body workout, was fine with me.
So all in all, my exercise at the gym was quite varied, I'd work chest, then arms, then legs, the back, but if I didn't feel like one or the other, I just wouldn't work that muscle part or group, I knew that I'd be back the next day or the next and likely work that muscle or group.
I wasn't in any competition. If you have FUN while exercising, there is a great chance that you'll keep doing it day after day. If you miss a day here and there, who cares, you're still getting a good amount of exercise in on a constant basis, and that is what matters most.
For decades, I've always eaten 2x more than most people, but yes, it was very healthy food, yet I've kept the same body weight of 155 lbs at 5'8" height, slim and trim since my high school days in the 1970s.
Continuing mild exercise, combined with a great or mostly, or even mildly healthy diet should keep you healthy for decades to come.
Decades ago, I met a woman in Las Vegas (my home from (1971-2006), who taught me a simple method for staying younger looking without the use of expensive creams, gels, serums, or medical treatments. In fact, nothing at all except your own hands for 5-seconds per day each time you dry your face with a towel,
Like gravity pulling everything on earth, downward, and time allowing the degeneration of cellular integrity allowing skin to eventually sag, this method can thwart the skin from sagging or sagging too much, thus allowing us to look aged... older than we are.
It starts with what we put on own absorbent skin. I apply only organic unfiltered raw Shea butter, or organic unfiltered raw coconut oil, or JR Watkins hand cream... but with JR Watkins it s difficult decision which scent because they all smell so great, so I empty 8 container tubes into a large tub with lid, I mix all four scents.
While this cream is full of healthy ingredients, I still apply it to my face, elbows and knee caps at night before bed, then wash it off my face after awakening... face only.
So far so good in having smooth, clean, unblemished, youthful skin at age 65.
Alzheimer's Disease continues to baffle the medical and scientific community on its cause, yet they have a theory and clue of what "may" cause this brain-function-destroying disease... miniscule aluminum particles.
It is scientific knowledge that a very small amount of aluminum is leached from aluminum cookware and aluminum foil when in contact with food as it's superheated during the cooking process.
While. YES, the leached particles are small, "accumulation" plays a critical role. Think of a lake or the ocean. Sure, it's just a water drop, but in accumulation, a lake or ocean develops.
Aluminum is a "wonderful conductor" of electricity. Whether voluntary or involuntary, EVERY function of your brain is controlled as an "electrical impulse" known as a "synapse" or "neurotransmission"; which is an electrical signal from the brain to any of the body parts or cells within your body, telling it what to do: breathe, move a body part, blink an eye, heartbeat, etc.
So, one solid theory is that as the aluminum particles build-up in the soft tissue of the brain year after year, they "may" cause short circuits on different brain functions.
One might ask, if this is true, then why doesn't everyone have Alzheimer's Disease? It's quite simple: many people use stainless steel or glass cookware, such as myself.
If I need to use aluminum foil I simply layer it with BPA-free, non-bleached, parchment paper. This baker's first choice, makes a barrier between food and aluminum.
While these are NOT MY TOES, I did once suffer from toenail fungus on my big toe, left foot. It began minor, then became major within a few short years.
I asked the doctor at the Veteran's Hospital in Fort Lauderdale for a cure and he stated that he'd NOT recommend the "internal" medications as they could cause liver damage.
He did firmly state that I'd have to remedy cure / get rid of / repair the fungus condition, as it could spread to my toe bone joints and cause pain and/or joint / tissue damage.
I then tried every brand of toe nail fungus cure cream, liquid and gel, available online and in stores. NONE had any effect towards curing this ailment.
Years later I stumbled across a HOME REMEDY by someone that suggested purchasing a "silicone toe cover" and a small container of old fashioned "Vicks Vapor Rub" which is a strong menthol cream.
I applied roughly a quarter teaspoon of the cream onto my toenail, spread the silicone toe cover onto my big toe, and left it alone for 48 hours. BEHOLD, the fungus was gone and my toenail looked clear and on it's way to rebuilding itself. A few weeks later my toenail looked fresh and new. To this day I'm still amazing. THANK YOU to whoever discovered this remedy and posting it online too.
This is a simple, calorie-burning, butt-tightening, leg strengthening exercise which you can perform nearly anywhere, anytime, without special equipment of even getting your hands dirty.
I've performed these exercises while watching television during commercials (with sound muted of course) because I enjoy shows on National Geographic Channel and they still have commercials.
You can perform this exercise back and forth across your living room or, around the perimeter of the room.
It's basically one foot in front of the other, with a bending of the knee on the forward leg, bringing the other knee "almost" touching the ground.
Step forward, bend, then up, then forward with other foot, bend, then up, the other foot forward and repeat as you move forward around or across the room.
These "lunges" can be performed on a hiking trail, the beach along the crashing waves on the shoreline, the side of the bicycle pathway, sidewalk or courtyard at work, backyard, side yard, park... almost anywhere.
I've performed this exercise in all types of clothes. Of course loose fitting clothes are always preferred, but even modestly-loose clothes are still functional for this exercise.
To add a level of difficulty, try lunging up an incline and/or hold the bent position briefly, or until you cannot hold it any longer.
